Carlos Diaz — PSS, Chair
Charles “Carlos” Diaz is a 2018 graduate of Anchorage Therapeutic Court, is a certified Peer Support Facilitator and Board Chair for the Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni Group. Carlos facilitates Peer Support groups for AKTCA and also leads the AKTCA Victim’s Impact Panel for the State of Alaska, using Therapeutic Court Participants as presenters to help first time DUI offenders see the impacts of addiction. He is extremely active within the local recovery field and works tirelessly to become more involved in Recovery at both the state and national levels. Carlos lives in Anchorage and works in his family business and has also recently accepted a job in the recovery field with Volunteers of America. Carlos’ vision and passion has led to the continued expansion and development of the AKTCA

Adam Washburn - PSS, Vice Chair
Adam Washburn is one of our newest board members, graduating from AWC in 2022. He is an outgoing and motivated member of the AKTCA and states “I’m going to be the Chair before you know it!”. We don’t doubt it Adam! You can find Adam filling in wherever he is needed as a facilitator, volunteer, regular speaker at the VIctim’s Impact Panel, and “Freezin for a reason”, participating in 6 Polar Plunges and raising over $10,000 for Special Olympics of Alaska!

Andrew Metcalf - PSS, Treasurer
Andrew is a 2019 graduate of the AWC and is the treasurer for AKTCA. He has a passion for continuing to grow the organization, is very active in the Advisory and Executive Committees, and facilitates the Kenai group. He selflessly continues to contribute his time to gain knowledge about issues that concern Wellness Court and Peer Support by attending trainings and conferences and uses that information to better the organization.

Kimberly Rapp - PSS, Secretary
Kimberly Rapp is a 2022 graduate of the AWC and is currently our hardworking group coordinator, where she serves as the “point of contact” between the court teams, participants and AKTCA Board members. She facilitates a Monday Peer Support Group at the Holy Family Church Annex and you can find her hosting AKTCA Game Night at the Alano Club where she will feed you pizza, give out prizes, and guarantee FUN on the last Friday of every month. She has a degree in Music Education and ran her families successful veterinary business for 20 years! The light of her life is her children, who she will gladly tell you all about, just ask!

Tommy Roehl — PSS
After graduating from the court in 2019, Tommy has been an integral member of the AKTCA serving as Activity Coordinator and facilitator. In his free time you can find Tommy golfing at Russian Jack, playing disc golf at various courses around Anchorage, and occasionally (just occasionally) you will find him on the front cover of Anchorage Daily News.

Michael Mooradian — CDC II, CDCS, PSP III, Training Coordinator
Michael is a founding Member of the Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni Group (AKTCA). He currently serves on the board of directors and is the Sr. Advisor for AKTCA. Michael has engaged in community outreach, facilitated peer support groups, and now works in the substance abuse counseling field as a Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor for Cook Inlet Tribal Council. Since graduating from the Anchorage Drug Court in 2003, Michael volunteered in the field, giving presentations on addiction and Peer support at Anchorage area schools, the Annual School on Addictions Spring Training, NADCP conferences and local treatment abuse centers. As a speaker, Michael challenges the status quo when it interferes with bringing sobriety to an addicted individual or to a community wanting to halt the epidemic of under-age drinking and drug abuse.

Ron Wilson — Outreach Coordinator
Ron Wilson is a 2010 graduate of the Anchorage Wellness Court and has attended numerous NADCP Conferences as a speaker with the AKTCA. . He is a board member of Partners for Progress, Inc., a father of four, a 20-year IBEW member, and Electrician. Ron owns and manages transitional housing for Re-Entry, is an ordained Minister, is self-employed and specializes in building leadership teams.

Lance Hanes — CDCI-P, NCACI, Training Coordinator
A 2014 graduate of the Anchorage Felony DUI Court and an AKTCA board member since 2013, Lance credits his sobriety to the community he has found with his fellow alumni. Lance is a trained Moral Reconation Therapy facilitator, a trained peer mentor through the McShin Foundation, and a Chemical Dependency Counselor I. He is employed in the recovery services field to assist others to find their way to freedom from addiction.

Heather Painter - PSS
After graduating from the Felony DUI court in 2020, Heather has been a crucial member of the AKTCA, serving as a director on the Board, an active member of the Advisory Committee, and a regular speaker at the Victims Impact Panel. She is a certified Peer Support Specialist through Alaska Behavioral Health Services. Heather has taken on the responsibility of heading the AKTCA Women’s Peer Support Group where she creates meaningful connections through sharing her experiences, strengths, and hopes and facilitates the Women’s group each month along with regularly facilitating Monday nights at the Alano Club. In her free time Heather enjoys hiking, biking, and helping others navigate through the recovery process.

Doreen Schenkenberger — MBA, HSA, Executive Director
Doreen Schenkenberger a 2005 Therapeutic Court graduate, is Alaska Native, Inupiat, originally from Nome, Alaska, and a tribal member of Sitnasuak and Nome Eskimo Community. Since 2014, Doreen has served as Chief Executive Officer of Partners for Progress, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to developing sustainable social justice programs in the State of Alaska. She served for several years on the Board of Directors of Partners for Progress, whose mission is, “Reducing Recidivism, Increasing Public Safety and Supporting Justice that Protects and Heals”. Doreen is a founding Member of the Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni Group (AKTCA); a statewide Peer Support Group supporting Reentry, Recovery and Therapeutic Courts. She has served as staff for AKTCA since it’s development and is very involved at the local, statewide and national levels working with others in outreach and education to improve programs serving disadvantaged groups. Her work experience includes more than 20 years in Executive Management overseeing program development, financial management, and grant writing to secure funding for Reformative Justice Programs in Rural Alaska. Doreen has a BBA in Management and Accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and an MBA focusing on Health Services from Alaska Pacific University and is a small business owner. In her spare time, she loves volunteering, fishing, traveling, scuba diving, skiing, and mostly, spending time with her family and friends.

Alicia Westberg - Peer Support Coordinator
Graduating from Anchorage Wellness Court in 2020, Alicia has since become an extremely active member of the AKTCA. First serving as our Procurement Coordinator, then as Vice Chair, facilitating multiple groups a week and now working as Peer Support Coordinator. Alicia is passionate about and dedicated to the growth of AKTCA and our community. She is always willing to jump in and help on whatever project the AKTCA is involved in. She graduated AWC on 9/14/20 and her sobriety date is 9/21/18 and says the she likes how September is a beautiful month for her!
